Interior architecture
Sophie Dumont develops, through the Architectures Intérieures series, a body of work in which painting is structured around constructed forms and silent tensions.
These compositions, both geometric and sensitive, do not belong to a purely formal abstraction but rather to a deeper exploration of interior space. The forms interlock, respond to one another, and find balance within a structure that is at once rigorous and alive.
Through a process of successive layering—alternating between the application and removal of material—the surface reveals a subtle depth, where color functions as both a structural element and an emotional force.
In this series, Sophie Dumont explores a form of mental architecture, where each element finds its place within a delicate equilibrium between order and movement.
