In In Two Voices, two large curved forms seem to respond to one another on either side of a central axis. They unfold within a composition built from overlapping planes, interruptions, and transitions between straight lines and curves.
Warm whites, deep burgundies, muted blues, greens, ochres, and terracotta tones create a rich yet restrained palette. Some forms extend into one another, while others contrast or echo each other, giving the composition its distinctive rhythm.
The title introduces a musical reference without imposing a literal interpretation. Like two distinct voices within the same score, the forms retain their individuality while contributing to a shared structure.
Successive layers, scraping, and reworking reveal traces of the painting process, deliberately disrupting the precision of the geometry.
